THE KOREAN MARKET AT A GLANCE

The e-commerce market in Korea is a 35.3 billion USD market (as of 2013) and amounts to 15% of the whole retail market.

At present, the e-Commerce market is growing more than 10% annually and the market is expected to exceed 40 billion USD in 2014.

The mobile market is growing at rapid speed and is expected to grow to 9.3 billion USD in 2014.

Cross Border

Lately, Korean consumers have started to make direct purchases through foreign websites, which offer a wide variety of brands and products for a price that is lower than the same products sold in Korea.

The foreign direct purchase ("jikgu") market is growing rapidly every year, growing to one (1) billion USD in 2013.
